This module converts in real time the analog RGB video signal coming from a DB23 connector (standard on Amiga computers and other retro systems) into a clean 15-pin VGA signal, fully compatible with modern CRT and LCD VGA monitors that accept native NTSC/PAL 15kHz signals.
How it works:
The buffer processes the three colour channels (Red, Green, Blue) and the horizontal/vertical sync lines independently. It uses a dedicated 3-channel integrated video buffer with built-in 5th-order Butterworth filtering (8.5 MHz) to provide precise amplification and level shifting. The result is a sharp, stable picture with no ghosting, distortion, colour shifts or other artefacts, excellent quality at every resolution, faithful colours and rock-solid synchronisation. This filter is ideal for SDTV applications and can also function as a DAC reconstruction filter or ADC anti-aliasing filter.
A multi-colour power LED gives instant visual feedback on the supply voltages:
• RED = +5V missing
• GREEN = +12V missing
• ORANGE = both voltages present and module operating correctly
At last it furnishes a +5V power supply at pin 9 of the VGA connector, according to VGA specs.
Usage:
Perfect for connecting Amiga 500, 500+, 600, 1200, 2000, 4000 (and any other Amiga computer with DB23 RGB output) to 15kHz-capable VGA monitors, projectors, TVs or capture devices.
Notes:
No cable is included.
Ideal for retrogaming, other vintage computer setups, emulation or simply using classic machines with modern screens while keeping full original video quality. It can be adapted for other systems easily.
It works plug-and-play with all Amiga resolutions (PAL, NTSC, Multiscan, ECS, AGA).

| ALBA | LE-24GY15-T2+DVD (pink) | 24 | 1366 | 768 | 16:9 | VGA, HDMI, SCART, RF | Unknown | n/a | Tested via SCART with A1200 revision 2B at 320x200, 320x256, 320x512, 640x200, 640x256, 640x512, 1280x256, 1280x512. First time I switched it on it had persistent flicker, 2nd time, 3rd time fine. Picture quality is ok (LG M2232 MUCH better for comparison - but the auto aspect ratio button on the remote does default the Amiga screen to 4:3 and centred. Pixel refresh rate appears higher than M2232D so interlace modes are terrible (they're ok on M2232D)). Important thing, it seems to work. Will test on Atari ST via RF later |

| Dell | U2312HMt | 23 | 1920 | 1080 | 16:9 | VGA, DVI-D, DP | Full | 2011 | HiRes/LowRes PAL works with pixel and phase adjustments, I ended up with Pixel Clock 94, Phase 74, but it might depend on your hardware, Tested with a buffered RGB->VGA adapter on Amiga. It can also run DblPAL but you need to tweak the TotClk value on the Amiga and Pixel/Phase on the monitor if you want it perfect, you might also need to run borderblank for it to sync. Seems to display NTSC modes too however this wasn't tested much. |

2026-01-23:erk Tested on an NEC1970NX-2 and Amiga 1200 with simple VGA adapter. Laced modes work correctly (e.g., PAL 640x512, 1280x512). If you run Workbench in LACED modes, you can then switch to x256 (e.g., standard PAL 640x256) and the image will display correctly (you'll just need to adjust it in the monitor menu). Turning off the monitor at this point or disconnecting the VGA cable will cause x256 mode (not LACED!) to display with 240 lines visible (don't do this!), and you'll lose 16 lines of image.
Games run from a floppy disk (Floppy or Gotek) running in x256 will only display 240 lines. NTSC games (x240) may display correctly. Therefore, the 1970NX-2 will be fine for Workbench and WHDL games. |
| NEC | LCD1970NXp | 19 | 1280 | 1024 | 5:4 | VGA, DVI-D | Partial | 2005 | This one can even handle interlaced modes of Amiga 500, 1200 and not properly on Falcon 030. Has vertical stripes with many games (depending on their precise vertical refresh rate, like 49,8Hz or 49,9Hz), which can be compensated by using the 'automatic' setting in a game that actually works fine without stripes (i.e. Xenon II). There is an optional stereo soundbar with 3.5 inch connector available for this monitor, which can be attached to the bottom of the monitor. PAL Hi-Res does NOT work right! The image is vertically stretched about twice the display's height! The monitor and soundbar was available in white and blgack/silver color. The "p" stands for PVA. (another test) (specs) (youtube) |

| Samsung | UE32B6000 (TV) | 32 | 1920 | 1080 | 16:9 | VGA, HDMI, SCART, Composite, Components, Tuner | Full | 2009 | Tested with Amstrad CPC 464 and 6128 with SCART adapter cable. Amstrad CPC produce RGB signals with 15KHz line, 50Hz field frequencies (a.k.a. 288p50). Interlaced/composite SCART tested with Sony TRV110E camcorder and Nintendo64 with composite output. Component YPrPb signals tested with Sanyo Xacti HD2000 camcorder in 576i50 mode. Most probably, other Samsung models similar to this one will work, too. The TV accepts 15kHz/50Hz (all variants) on SCART and component connectors, **not** on VGA input. All 4 criteria of "full support" satisfied, even very good deinterlace (static parts of picture appear totally flicker-free) and, on composite input, some (probably time-based) filtering of color bleed. |
