Description

A delightful and highly collectable vintage Italian figurine of Uncle Scrooge McDuck (known in Italy as Zio Paperone), one of Walt Disney's most beloved characters. This piece was produced under an official Disney licence by Fontanini, the celebrated Tuscan company based in Bagni di Lucca — renowned for their fine handcrafted figurines — and bears both the impressed Fontanini spider trademark and the "ITALY" mark on the base, alongside the front-facing © Walt Disney Productions copyright inscription.

The copyright wording "Walt Disney Productions" is a reliable dating indicator: the company was renamed after 1984, so all pieces bearing this mark were produced before that year. This places the figurine firmly in the classic Fontanini Disney licensing era of the 1960s–1970s — a particularly sought-after period for Disney collectibles enthusiasts.

The figure depicts Scrooge in his iconic pose: standing dynamically on a green rectangular base, wearing his trademark black top hat (with blue and red banding), his distinctive blue frock coat with red collar and cuffs, yellow spats, and red shoes. In one hand he holds a gold-handled walking cane; his other arm is raised theatrically. At his feet rests a small money bag marked with a dollar sign — the perfect character accessory for the world's richest duck.
